Let’s face it, our chapter’s ability to communicate with its members after leaving NC State is pretty terrible. It was not until just before our annual alumni golf tournament that we realized just how ineffective our methods of communication are. In light of this new realization, we are kicking off a new initiative designed to vastly improve the quality and quantity of our connections with Beta-Upsilon alumni. As part of this effort the chapter has put a “Alumni Email Sign-Up” link on its website homepage. This link will direct all Beta-Upsilon alumni to an e-mail service through which the chapter can send out periodic messages regarding current or upcoming events. The chapter has no intention of cluttering your inbox with constant emails and hopes only that we be able to communicate major events and occurrences to those who might be interested in them. These events will include, but are not limited to, alumni tailgates, golf tournaments, and assorted award ceremonies.
The problem with using only this method is readily apparent: how do we plan to get in contact with those alumni who have no way of getting this message? Unfortunately, there is not a great answer to this. Most of the email accounts that we have on file were given by NCSU and have long since been deleted. So, here’s where we need your help. If you know how to get in contact with any Beta-Upsilon alumni who have lost touch with the chapter, please send their contact information to me at scruffi2@ncsu.edu. Thank you for any help that you can give us in reconnecting with our alumni.
